3 Ways to Change as a Choice, Not a Reaction
Admit it! Most of us primarily change as a reaction. We are always stuck in our comfort zones, waiting for something to happen to push us to make a significant change.
How about, for once, you stop waiting until things get so bad or uncomfortable to change? It is human nature to wait for crisis, loss, tragedy, disease or trauma to commit to change. How about you decide to change as a choice instead of a reaction and gradually make changes that will benefit your life immensely?
Sometimes, we make plans to elevate our lives by creating new routines. However, since it's out of our comfort zone, we give up before we start by deciding it is not for us, or we push ourselves to commit to a new routine but lack the consistency to carry on and eventually give up.
Below we have covered three simple ways to change your life. Let's dive in.
Prepare For the Change
Don’t wait for the worst-case scenario to make a beneficial change in your life. It is possible to grow in a state of happiness contrary to what the masses believe. Regardless, it begins with your mindset. You must prepare for the changes you want to make to ensure you stay on the right path. So, how do you prepare? By letting go of the past and creating space for change within your mind.
Create a Routine and Stay Consistent
Next, you must create a routine that allows you to add all the changes you want to make to your schedule. While making a routine is easy, sticking to it is not. However, with practice, you'll be able to stay consistent with your goals.
For instance, if you want to start doing Yoga, instead of signing up for daily classes, you can begin by signing up for weekly classes; then, once your brain adapts, you can sign up for a few days per week until you adjust. To succeed at making a change, you must repeat it constantly until your brain accepts the change.
Do not Give Up
As cliche as it may sound, not giving up is key to success. We can all agree that sometimes life gets in the way, making it hard for us to stick to our new routine.
Regardless, you need to stay consistent, and even though at times you won't be able to do what you are supposed to do, do not beat yourself up. Instead, make a conscious choice to change once again. You are allowed to change as many times as you want to; until you are pleased with yourself.
Final Words
Change does not have to feel like a burden. Also, you can still evolve while you are in a good place in your life; it all begins with your mindset. You should never limit yourself by conforming to your comfort zone just because it feels easy.
Furthermore, letting go of your conditioned beliefs of what reality is what will allow you to evolve, which is the greatest human experience. So, why wait?
